Despite having roughly a fifth of the world\u2019s population, less than 4% of the world\u2019s power is used on the continent of Africa. 380 million of the 570 million people without access to power worldwide live in Africa.<\/p>\n
The paradox is that despite having insufficient electricity, this \u201cDark Continent\u201d actually produces a lot of energy, but without a clear pathway that sustains the generated energy through productive use, it will be impossible to fully harness the energy, leading to high electricity prices and a lot of wastage.<\/p>\n
To put it briefly, when it comes to addressing Power Poverty in Africa, we\u2019ve been focusing on the incorrect solution. Instead of generating demand, we have been concentrating on increasing supply.<\/p>\n
